Still on cloud nine after finding out he was starring in not just one but two of the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival’s most anticipated entries this year, Dustin Yu said he feels so blessed to be starring in Love You So Bad with his Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition batchmates Bianca De Vera and Will Ashley as well as getting the chance to go into full action star mode as Richard Gutierrez’s younger brother in Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Evil Origins.
“I’m super excited. I’m also feeling blessed at the same time kasi first MMFF nga namin so hindi namin alam kung ano ang i-e-expect but one thing is for sure, ma-e-enjoy namin yung journey namin while doing this,” he told the press during an interview at the MMFF Parade of Stars event held last December 19 in Makati City.
During the event, the 24-year-old actor also addressed the issue of the fighting between the two fandoms of the two love teams DustBia and WillCa, which will both be represented in Love You So Bad.
“Ako naman aware naman ako na yung mga ganung bagay hindi talaga maiiwasan since may mga ship silang sinusuportahan. Pero kumbaga, sana ma-enjoy na lang nila kapag napanuod nila yung pelikula. Sana ma-realize na bawat ship ay deserve maging masaya. Ayun lang for me,” he admitted.
In a previous interview on ABS-CBN, Dustin revealed how happy he was to be working with Bianca and Will again. “Si Bianca kasi nakabuo kami ng special relationship inside PBB. And then now, na magka-work na kami, it makes it more special. Mas nakaka-excite kasi bago eh, first time naming mag-work together. So iba, iba. Kasi sa PBB pinagku-kwentuhan lang namin [na] ‘sana magka-work tayo together paglabas’ and now it’s a dream come true to us. Nakakatuwa. Now thinking about it parang isa siya sa blessing talaga. Malaking impact for me. Working with Will, alam naman natin si Will matagal na sa industriya. I’m super grateful and honored na makatrabaho siya. For sure marami na siyang experiences.”

Dustin also shared his intention to reaffirm his close friendship with actor David Licauco, with whom he has not been able to spend much time with this year. “Alam ko naman na yung friendship namin, hindi naman ganun kababaw. Naintindihan ko rin. Pero hindi pa kami nagkikita talaga. Siguro kapag napanuod niya yung movie na talagang trinabaho ko, ma-ri-realize niya na, ‘Ah, worth it pala yung time na sinacrifice ni Dustin for this film para sa time naming magkaibigan.’” he said.
Although he has already apologized to David, the Love You So Bad star said he hopes to make it up to him next year and added a wish for them to have another joint project together in the future.
"Well, yung before kasi, busy siya pero ako, hindi ako busy. Eh ngayon busy kaming dalawa. So mahirap yung schedule. Siyempre iniisip ko rin yung schedule niya. Eh may schedule din akong iniisip. Dati kasi, free ako sobra. So any time puwede. Sana magka-movie kami together. Or sa Love You So Bad sana pumunta siya (manuod),” he added.
