In an interview with Boy Abunda on December 1, Marco Masa and Eliza Borromeo clarified the real story behind some events that unfolded in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0. The King of Talk asked the pair to set the record straight and shed light on the love maze the former housemates have with fellow Gen Z housemate, Miguel Vergara.
The interview began with Eliza revisiting what truly happened before she even entered the PBB house. She revealed that Miguel was someone she had a connection with long before PBB.
“Bago po talaga ako pumasok ng PBB, nag-usap na po talaga kami ni Miguel. Meron na po talagang something. Bago pa po pumasok.”
She continued, painting the picture of a bond that never fully took shape: “Pero natitigil po siya. Open naman po talaga ako dun na sinasabi ko ‘gino-ghost po talaga ako ni Miguel.' Opo.
“Then nung last na usap po namin yung feelings ko po kay Miguel nawawala na po talaga. Kasi lulubog lilitaw po si Miguel. Hindi ko po alam kung dapat ko pa ba siyang gustuhin o hindi na,” admitting that the inconsistency confused her.
Despite the timing of her fading feelings and her growing closeness with Marco, Eliza made it clear that there was no overlap.
Tito Boy then turned to Marco, asking where he stood while all this was happening. Marco explained that inside the house, he made it a point to know each housemate on a deeper level, emphasizing that he approached everyone, including Miguel, with the same openness.
“Actually po I was really there like trying to get to know everyone nang mas malalim. Kasi of course may mga bago po akong nakikilala so I really tried to get to know them one-on-one, even Miguel.”

Boy then asked Marco why Eliza stood out among everyone else. “Well, I won’t deny the fact that she really is a safe space of mine inside. I really saw something in her na I wanna make her realize na she is more than what she sees para sa sarili niya. That’s something I've been helping her throughout din,” said Marco. He also admitted that he felt "something" and that he did not shy away from that feeling. “Yes po, palagay po yung loob ko kay Eliza. Ka-vibe ko po talaga siya. Admirable naman talaga siya and I really believe na it really came out naturally.”
Marco shared that early on, he casually asked Miguel if he liked Eliza after observing how often they talked.
“Early on, I really asked him ‘sino ba yung pinaka-close mo dito?’ kasi napansin ko na magka-usap sila ni Eliza and as a joke tinanong ko kung ‘may gusto ka ba kay Eliza?’ sabi niya early on na friends talaga sila.”
Boy pressed – did Miguel give a clear yes or no? Marco answered, “Sabi niya po friends po early on.”
“It’s really about tanong lang talaga. It’s not about ‘ay baka may nasasagasaan’ it’s just an honest question of ‘gusto mo ba si [Eliza]’ without the intention of actually getting to be involved,” he added.
“And we were actually fine,” he clarified. However, in spite of Miguel and Eliza having a connection before entering the house and Marco having an on-screen love team partner in Ashley Sarmiento, they admitted that they never really sat down to talk and clarify the love maze they are in. Eliza even admitted that this was the first time that she knew how Marco and Miguel had been talking about her.
“Hindi ko po alam kung may napag-uusapan po sila about don. Ngayon lang po,” Eliza admitted.
From there, Boy asked the question fans had waited for: Where are they now in their relationship?
Marco answered first, explaining that whatever they built inside the house is something he chooses to protect. “For me of course, it’s really good na may na-build akong connection inside. Talagang pino-protektahan ko lang po yung relationship na meron. And of course, it’s really a different topic here in the outside world.”
“I’m still continuing to get to know her while focusing on my career po talaga,” said Marco. Eliza spoke about how much Marco meant to her inside the house: “Naging open din naman po ako sa loob ng bahay na special po sakin si Marco. And yung friendship po namin pinag-iingatan ko po rin po ‘yun kasi isa po siya sa mga tao po sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya na nagbibigay sa akin ng lakas ng loob.”
Now outside the house, both agreed that the real world adds new layers to their situation. The two emphasized that apart from friendship, they really are focusing on their solo careers as artists.
“Outside po is really different so I’m really getting to know her po. Focused rin po talaga sa career,” Marco explained.
“We’re good friends po, super. Super happy po ako na mas makikilala ko po siya dito outside. Same po kami, focused po talaga kami sa solo careers,” Eliza added.
