Pinoy Big Brother host Gabbi Garcia got a heartwarming surprise from her mother, Tes Lopez, who turned out to be part of the cabin crew on her flight back to the Philippines from a recent trip to Shanghai.
Gabbi's mom works as a flight purser for a local airline.
"Sinundo ako ni Mommy sa China @lopeztes 😂 Story time! So Khalil and I went to Shanghai for my birthday trip via PAL. On our flight back to Manila, we were told that the purser was supposed to be a family friend from Mom’s work. Little did I know… she actually took our flight back to Manila just to surprise me! 😂" she posted on her Instagram page.
The actress-host said she was completely caught off guard when she realized who the purser was. "Nagkagulatan na lang kami on the plane when I realized siya pala yung purser ng flight namin 😅😂 Sana inuwian pa kita ng dimsum from the airport, Mom!" she stated.
To make the moment even more amusing, Gabbi revealed that her father had unknowingly played a part in the surprise. "To make it even funnier my dad asked me to video our family friend (the purser) as I was boarding so he could say hi. Yun pala, kaya niya pinapavideo kasi nanay ko pala yung andun 🤣 Surprise level 💯 infairness!!!" she shared.
Back in December 2023, Gabbi also shared a moment she shared with Tes during her trip back to the Philippines from a Canada trip.
"Throwback to our flight going home from Canada with @flypal about a month ago 🤣 my mom before being promoted as a flight purser with one of her most demanding, most difficult, and most loved passengers, ME 😅😩🤣," Gabi quipped in an Instagram post at that time.
In August 2018, Gabbi wrote an appreciation post for her mother who has been balancing her work as a flight attendant and as a parent.
"I've always looked up to her. Her job was never an issue when it comes to our family time. Idk how she does it, but she manages to balance everything," Gabbi said in an Instagram post in 2018.
She added: "To all the FA's out there, hands down to you guys!! P.S. if you’re a passenger, pls be kind to your FA’s… actually to everybody on board. Hindi biro ang trabaho nila."
