Actress and businesswoman Neri Naig MIranda admitted that she was shocked to see some comments from netizens about her looks. In an Instagram post, the Wais na Misis shared that she doesn’t need to glam herself up every time especially when she’s just at home.
In her previous post on social media, Neri was met with criticism from several netizens–– nitpicking her looks as she does her everyday work.

“Nagulat ako kase ang dami palang comments... some of them, concerned about how I look. May nagsabi pa na, ‘Ano’ng nangyari kay Neri? Ang haggard nya.. tumanda itsura mo,’” she shared.
The celebrity mom maintained that she was just living her “normal life” which is why she doesn’t see the need to put on makeup. She added how so much has been happening in her life in the past years which may have added to what the netizens perceived.
“I was just in my sunroom kahapon, nag-gagardening. Walang makeup. Walang filter. Hindi nag-effort para sa ibang tao. Kase ‘pag nasa bahay ako, ‘yun talaga ako... nakaduster or pajamas... nagtatanim, nagluluto, naglalaba, nagpapawis, and just living my normal life,” she added.
She then recalled when she was younger when people around her would also comment about her looks–– even up until she started her career in the entertainment industry.
“Hindi ako pinanganak na maganda. Alam ko na yun.. at hindi rin ako nagpapa-awa or fishing.. At matagal kong naging insecurity ‘yan nung bata pa ako,” she said.

“Kahit nung nag-artista na ako, may mga tao na nagsasabi na nahihirapan raw akong ayusan kasi mukha daw akong probinsyana. Mukhang ukay ukay mga damit ko,” she continued.
Despite this, Neri maintained that she has learned to accept who she is and what she has. At 42 years old, the actress is content with her natural looks as it reminded her of the things she went through in the past.
“I’ve learned to love and accept this face. This body. This quiet, simple version of me. This is the same face that smiled through pain, the same hands that built dreams from scratch, the same woman who faced the world even when it laughed at her. And maybe that’s what real beauty is...the kind that’s not always seen..” she wrote.
Neri is hopeful that people would normalize women without make-up all the time in order to see the “most unfiltered moments.”
“Let’s normalize looking real, looking tired, looking human. Because maybe… it’s in our most unfiltered moments that we actually look the most alive,” she ended.
Fans of the celebrity expressed their support in the comment section and assured her that she is beautiful with or without any makeup on.
