Kyle Echarri said Thursday he is motivated to further push his limits after scoring his first Best Actor recognition.
The Kapamilya star was named Best Actor at the 21st Gawad Tanglaw Awards for his portrayal of Moises in the series “Pamilya Sagrado.”
“It adds more fuel to the fire,” Echarri said in an interview held in Quezon City.
“Nakakataba ng puso. It is not something I am used to. It’s my first time and I don’t know how to process it. But I’m super grateful for the recognition,” he added.
Echarri dedicated the honor to the late Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal, noting that "Pamilya Sagrado" was among the final projects that Endrinal approved before his passing.
“I owe it all to the late Sir Deo Edrinal. For those who don’t know, this was the last project he was able to green-light before he passed,” he said.
The actor also expressed pride in the show’s success after it received multiple accolades. “I’m proud to say hindi lang ako Best Actor — Best Teleserye, Best Director din,” he enthused.
Echarri promised that his upcoming project, "Roja," will reveal a fresh and deeper side of his acting.
“I’m excited now for 'Roja'. Everything I learned, dadalhin ko rito,” he said.
Echarri leads the upcoming action series with Donny Pangilinan, while the the rest of the cast include Maymay Entrata, Janice de Belen, Lorna Tolentino, Kai Montinola, Raymond Bagatsing and Joel Torre, among others.
