Marjorie Barretto shared a warm message for her late brother, Mito Barretto, as she commemorates the 40th day since his death last September 22. In an Instagram post on Friday, October 31, she shared her reflections and grief, honoring the memory of her sibling who left a lasting mark on those who knew him.

“40th day without you, Mito. They say the soul’s journey ends today. You are free now, surrounded by light and peace, watching over us with the same quiet strength you always had,” her post read.
Marjorie described the deep impact of Mito’s absence in her life, saying how he will always be remembered. “There is not a moment for the past 40 days that I do not think of you. I feel your loss more and more everyday. I miss you so much. We all do,” she continued, reflecting a grief shared by the entire Barretto family.
The actress also highlighted the joy Mito would have felt in seeing his family honor his life. “You would have been happy to see us celebrate you today. We love you always and forever,” she wrote as she ended the post.
Her post also contained photos of their family gathering and a shot of Mito's tomb. Her message quickly resonated with followers and friends in the industry, many of whom sent messages of comfort and prayers in memory of Mito.
Marjorie and Mito are known to have a very close relationship with each other. In Marjorie's announcement of his passing last September 23, he recalled how his eldest brother had always been a pillar of love and support in their family.
“The hardest caption I’ll ever write… My eldest brother, Mito, passed away so suddenly. So full of life. No warning, we are not prepared for this. I can’t imagine life without you—you were always present for every important occasion: every birthday, holiday, graduation, premiere night… always so proud of me and my children. You and Connie always opened your home for us every Sunday or any day, a place filled with love, Connie’s cooking, laughter, and family.”
She also recounted how Mito stepped up for the family after their father passed: “When Dad passed, you stepped in and took his place in the family. You were our rock, and you were the best. You loved my children so much and they are so heartbroken.”
“The pain of losing you is unbearable, Mito. I didn’t know a life without you… and now I must learn to,” Marjorie reflected.
Mito is the oldest among the Barreto siblings. He was 66 at the time of his passing.
