MANILA — Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, Fil-Am singer H.E.R., and Filipina actress Liza Soberano are working together for new DreamWorks Animation’s movie "‘Forgotten Island."
In an article published by The Hollywood Reporter, it said that Dave Franco, Manny Jacinto, and Jenny Slate are also joining the voice cast of the upcoming animated film, which is set for theatrical release September next year.
The adventure film that will be released by Universal Pictures will be directed and written by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado.
"'Forgotten Island' centers on lifelong best friends Jo (H.E.R.) and Raissa (Soberano), who find themselves stuck on the magical and forgotten island of Nakali. The only way home will potentially require the loss of their cherished memories together."
Salonga and Soberano confirmed their upcoming project through their respective social media accounts.
Soberano recently starred in the American film "Lisa Frankenstein" while Salonga, who's known for her singing roles in Disney films including "Alladin," recently made headlines as the first Filipino to receive star in Hollywood Walk of Fame.
