Kapuso actress Klea Pineda broke her silence on social media and shared how online bashing has affected her mental health. In an Instagram post earlier this week, the Open Endings star expressed how people should learn how damaging the hateful words they write in the comments can be.
Klea is just one of the few celebrities who have been a victim of bashing on social media in recent weeks.

She shared how she continues to be bashed on social media with whatever she posts–– may it be about her physical appearance, her clothing, or even unfounded claims about her personal life.
“It’s not easy waking up in the morning, checking your phone, and the first thing you see are hurtful words from strangers who don’t even know you. I’ve promised myself so many times that I’d stop reading the comments just to protect my mental health. It sounds simple, right? But it’s hard,” she admitted.
The Kapuso actress admitted while she is advised not to look at the hurtful comments, she can’t help herself but still read them up.
“Some of the comments just hit differently. You have no idea how damaging words can be, how they can break someone emotionally and mentally, how they can destroy a person’s confidence to even show up in public,” she maintained.
Klea then reminded everyone how damaging hurtful comments could be for someone even if they don’t show that they’re affected by it.
“You might think it’s nothing, but you never really know how deep that pain goes for the person on the other side of the screen. It hurts to think that sometimes, it takes someone losing their life before people realize how serious and deep this issue is. Let’s always choose to be kind,” she expressed.
She hopes that people would rather use social media for the better and try to uplift others instead of putting them down.
“Please, don’t be the reason someone gives up on life. Be an inspiration instead. Help life others up. Let this be a reminder to those who find joy in bashing and judging people online, use social media the right way. Stop the hate. Be kind,” she ended.
