Actress Sunshine Cruz expressed her frustration over the fake news that’s being spread on social media about her and her family. In her Facebook post earlier this week, the celebrity mom shared some screenshots of the fake news that some troll accounts have been making.
Sunshine maintained that there is nothing true about these screenshots and she revealed that they are looking into the pages with her legal team.

Some of the screenshots that she shared were about owning a mansion or her daughter being pregnant. One of the photos posted was a poorly edited photo of her daughter’s face on top of a pregnant woman.
“My children and I have been subjected to years of ridiculous rumors. My children and I have been supposedly pregnant, murdered, beaten, arrested and even secretly own a mansion in a posh village,” she wrote.
The celebrity mom has denied all of these and hopes that her fans could fact check as she claimed that some people are misled to believe in these fake news.
“It's a testament to how easily people are misled that even the smartest individuals sometimes fall for them. No to #fakenews,” she shared.
Sunshine admitted that it’s hard to file for a legal case as the pages don’t have the real names of the people behind the said account. She assured her fans that they are monitoring the pages but all they can do at the moment is raise awareness about the fake news.
“My lawyer Atty. Bonito Alentajan has been looking into these sites. It isn't easy kasi psuedo names ang gamit nila. For now I am posting these fake news for awareness,” she ended.

In the comment section, fans of Sunshine extended their support and shared that they’ve reported some of this fake news.
“People will always try to stir up fake news just to get attention. The more ridiculous the story, the more the chances it becoming viral. What truly matters is that the people close to you know the truth. The opinions of those who don’t really know you shouldn’t carry any weight anymore,” a fan wrote.
“Dapat talaga ma sampolan yang mga nagpapakalat ng fake news para di pamarisan,i post nyo rin po pag nakasuhan sila para maging aware ang lahat,” another fan added.
Sunshine is just one of the many celebrities that have been hounded by fake news on social media. Other celebrities have taken legal action to stop the spread of misinformation about them.
