It's no surprise that Carlos Yulo dominated Google searches in the Philippines this year -- after all, it's not every day that someone wins a double gold medal for the country in the Olympics.

The gymnast, who became the Philippines' most celebrated Filipino athlete after his historic feat in the 2024 Paris Olympics, made it to four categories in Google's top searches in the country.
He topped the sports and male personalities lists, and ranked 4th in overall top trending and news categories.

A handful of local celebrities were also among the most searched male personalities in the Philippines this year.
Closely following Yulo at second place is Nash Aguas, who surprised the public with his wedding to fellow child star Mika dela Cruz last May.

Earlier this week, Aguas once again made his fans swoon as he publicly expressed his love for his wife: "You are more than I asked, think, or imagine. You're the one I prayed for, and will always be praying for."

Other local celebrities in the list include singer-songwriter Rico Blanco, following the controversy involving his ex-girlfriend Maris Racal; and young basketball star Kobe Paras, who recently confirmed his relationship with actress Kyline Alcantara.
