Doug and Chesca Kramer gifted their second daughter Scarlett a Rolex watch for her 13th birthday.
In a YouTube vlog, the celebrity parents explained why they chose to give a luxury watch to their daughter.
"The reason being is our kids work hard, they deserve it. School, they study, [sports], everything, and we figured why give them, like for example a bag. After a few years you don't know how the condition of the bag might be. Or let's say branded shoes or whatever. But you know, a gift like this, you can say timeless. It's an investment for them that they can use when they're not just 13, [but] onwards," Doug explained.
Chesca added that they wanted to give their kids gifts that they can use for a long time.
"The reason why we give certain gifts, timeless ones, is because it is something that we want them to have it all throughout their lives. And maybe become an heirloom that they can pass it on to their children. It's more than just that gift but it is deeper than that," she said.
Doug further highlighted that a watch's value increase over time.
"That's why I won't hesitate ever if we're comfortable and I'm able to give jewelry to my wife or to our kids because it's something that will never get old. And a watch like this, it's something that you will take care of I'm sure and you will need to take care of it because it is something that you will have for a very, very long time," he said.
Doug added: "And if you know the watch market like I do, the watch market is very stable, and they increase in price over time."
Their eldest daughter Kendra also received a Rolex watch when she turned 13.
Chesca also relayed that jewelry is something that they also give as gifts to their kids. The celebrity mom herself received luxury items from her parents.
"Even our parents, they also give our children jewelry, something that they can take with them as they grow up. And I also passed on some of the jewelry that my mom gave me to my daughters also so para siyang naging tradition namin. And my mother-in-law has given me also jewelry," she said.
