Maris Racal opened up about how she dealt with her recent breakup.
In an interview with Vicki Belo, the actress shared: "Ako kasi thankful ako sa work 'cause nada-divert 'yung attention ko. If wala siguro akong work, I don't know saan na ako ngayon. But right now, work makes me happy."
On her advice for those who are dealing with a breakup, she said: "To everyone who [is] going through tough times, just focus on things that are happening in front of you and what you're feeling is very valid."
Maris further highlighted that it's okay to feel things and go through your emotions.
"It's okay to feel sad, it's okay to feel lost, it's okay to feel a lot of things, it's okay to question yourself but 'yung importante is 'yung positive words and positive people around you. Sa work, kung may work ka, focus on it and give your 100 percent and malay mo months later you will be happy and [feel] normal again."
Speaking of work, Maris has been simultaneously working on various acting projects recently and she remarked that she's giving her best on every opportunity. "Right now, my life is super packed with shootings, tapings. Right now, I am doing a movie with Vice Ganda for the MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival). And simultaneously, I am also shooting a movie with Anthony Jennings," she said.
The Kapamilya star also relayed that she's been filming for the series Incognito.
When asked what her dream as an actress is, she replied: "Well my goal is to be remembered for being a good actress and I wanna be able to make movies na would be iconic someday."
Maris recently starred in the film Sunshine, which was an official selection to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2024.
"Di ako makapaniwala na natapos na namin ang pelikulang Sunshine pagkatapos ng halos isang taon. Saludo sa mga bumubuo ng pelikulang ito, lalo na kay Direk Tonet (Jadaone) na ilang taon itong trinabaho. Hanga ako sa dedikasyon at puso ng mga kasama ko rito. Para ito sa kababaihan at sa kanilang karapatang magpasya para sa sarili at sa kanilang katawan," she posted on her Instagram page following the release of the trailer ahead of the TIFF.
She added: "Nakakaproud na ang world premiere ng pelikulang ito ay sa TIFF 2024. Isang malaking karangalan ang magkaroon ng pagkakataong ibahagi ang pelikulang Pilipino sa buong mundo."
