MANILA — Kai Montinola walked out of the Pinoy Big Brother House as a Big 4 finalist—but she didn’t stop there. In less than a year, she has stepped up as a rising all-around performer.
The “Shooting Star” singer successfully packed the Sky Dome for her album launch, a dream she was merely manifesting in early interviews.
“It’s just been like what— 7 months? But I guess God really has his perfect timing. I have always dreamt what I am doing now, and now is the time God said you are ripe enough— Let’s go! I am so glad I was given the opportunity to do this and grateful for the blessings,” she said during her “Kai’s the Linmit” album launch and fan meet held at a mall in in Quezon City, Saturday.

Kai takes pride in her album “Kaileidoscope,” which she poured herself into. The record not only showcases her vocal range but her vision as well.
“It has a wide variety of how my voice can go, and there are different styles sa album that I am glad I can share to people. Hindi lang music but the creatives is Kai-fied,” she explained.
At her album launch, fans saw an even more confident and commanding Kai Montinola as she owned the stage with powerful solos and colorful duets with fellow PBB alum Jarren and actor Kyle Echarri.
“Sonrang hanga ako sa kanya. Naiiyak ako sa sobeang dami niya na-achieve, idol talaga,” Pay Chiu, who had been following Kai from her PBB days said.
But Kai is not just making waves in music, she likewise showed promise on screen. She recently made her acting debut as a lead in “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” and even earning praise from several viewers.
“It challenged me for the best reason and I think it paid off.I have dived into music ever since, and now I want to dive more into acting,” she said.

Montinola said she was able to easily adjust and adapt on set, thanks to the MMK team and her on-screen partner, Kyle Echarri.
“Kyle made me feel I was not an outsider. He made me feel we are all working together, we are all friends and family. He also made sure I was comfortable,” she recalled.
“It is expected I would be uncomfortable at first crossing inti acting but because of the team, hindi ko naramdaman,” she added.
On top of her music and acting projects, Kai had also landed a string of brand deals driven by her fast-growing fan base.
“Thank you so much sa lahat ng supporters? all your support are acknowledged,” she enthused.
