MANILA -- Claudine Barretto remembered and paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend Rico Yan on her Instagram account, 22 years after his death.
The actress shared a reel from the Instagram account @rycb.memories that had the caption: “Claudine’s one and only forever.”
“March 29 My heart stopped 💔💔💔 #alwaysandforever,” she meanwhile wrote on her repost.
In the fan-made clip, Barretto tells Karen Davila that Yap had a significant impact on her life.
“He is a big part of my life,” she told Davila in a previous interview.
“In your life sabi nila you just have one great love, right? So parang ako 'yung wansapanataym, wansapanataym,” she added.
(“They say in life you just have one great love, right? For me that once upon a time was a once upon a time.”)
The reel also featured photos and videos of the two from their youth.
The pair was among the most popular love teams in the late '90s and 2000s. Yan and Barretto starred in the hit series "Mula Sa Puso" and "Saan Ka Man Naroroon" and top-billed blockbuster films like “Got 2 Believe.”
Yan died in his sleep on March 29, 2002 due to hemorrhagic pancreatitis while on vacationing in Palawan.
